Hi,

I am in the process of migrating from Ubuntu to Centos, and am hung up on GeoIP support.

I notice that the GeoIP module (nginx-module-geoip) is available for Ubuntu, but not for any of the RHEL distributions. It used to be, up until Centos 7 / RHEL 7, but no longer.

I've searched the mailing lists and the web, and I can't seem to find any reason why it was dropped.

Hi @ahankinson!

The reason is simple - RHEL and its derivatives do not ship the GeoIP library which is required for this module to build.
