See this StackOverflow question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25075023/matplotlib-boxplot-outlier-color-change-if-keyword-sym-is-used . Specifying a symbol without color for the "sym" argument results in any outliers below the box only (not those above) being shown in a different color.

Rather surprising if this bug is real and hasn't been noticed for so long. Am I missing something?
