Hello internet. This is my personal website built with Django 5.
Exhausted by social media, I began thinking of the good old days of blogging platforms like Xanga and realized that most social media sites today lack the maximalist personalization that existed before. One of the many reasons I hesitated joining Facebook until 2009 was because you couldn't put music on your profile like you could on Myspace. Eventually, like many of us Millenials, I relented because all my friends were on Facebook. Then came Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter; propietary platforms that lacked the creative edge that places like Myspace and Xanga had.
This project is my attempt to take back a corner of the internet for myself and to give a kind, but arduent, "Fuck You" to the algorithm, quarterly profits, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
