It covers our progress from last 2 weeks and also shows our plans for next 2 weeks.

Important info

• ESP-IDF v4.4.1 released 19/4/2022 (be aware of known issues)

Tasks progress - 2.0.3 milestone

• Triage of issues applicable for 2.0.3 Release, updated board available here
• ESP-IDF v4.4.1 release synchronized to Arduino core (#6594) - Merged
• BUGFIX: FS read + speed improvements for SD - in Review (high priority)
• Changed type of LEDC frequency from double to uint32_t - in Review
• Added RainMaker support on Arduino IDE for ESP32-C3/S2/S3 - in Review
• Face Detection in CameraWebServer Example - in Review
• tone generation with ledcSetup and ledcWrite instable under fw 2.0 (was fine with 1.0.6) - tested and works properly (awaiting author response)
• Native USB CDC hangs up on ESP32-S2 after about 320 characters - moved to internal development to be solved with ESP-IDF Team, removed from 2.0.3 milestone
• Arduino IDE ESP32-C3 USB CDC problems - investigated, new issue needs to be open, will be probably removed from 2.0.3 milestone

General Issue solving progress

• ESP32 C3 digitalRead() returns always 0, should return the pin level - In progress
• Setting DHCP IP-range start for softAP - approaches discussed - will be implemented
• Added compiler.warning_flags to platform.txt - new Pull Request needed, fix CI issues
• After 1.0.6 update WiFi won't connect to other network // connection time increased - Discussed, needs more investigation

Community and Documentation progress

• Update of Documentation project template in progress (tracked internally)
• Native USB documentation in progress
• Stale bot removed
• Expired issues cleanup is in progress (if you follow notification from repository, we apologize for increased activity about issue closing)
• First Community Meeting planned
• Issue template and Readme updates - In Review

Plans for next 2 weeks

• Review of Open Pull Requests (high priority)

• Finish tasks in progress with 2.0.3 milestone (high priority)

• ESP32 Arduino Rainmaker Error - needs testing

• lib-builder: review and extract non-chip-specific sdkconfig options into a common sdkconfig file - needs investigation

• Update status of open and already investigated issues assigned to developers (view available here)

• Prepare for First Community Meeting

• Write down more topics for internal trainings

• In a week on Thursday 28/4/2022 evaluate progress and make a decision about release of v2.0.3-RC2 or v2.0.3 stable
