Description

Added some notes for the current release of solr (9.8) and deployment using podman.

Will this environment workaround remain compatible with SOLR 10? Or is it only applicable to 9.8 and any other versions prior to 10?

Replied via email but don't see it here: stricly speaking as of now 9.8 is a requirement. However it is not uncommon that the latest and greatest SOLR has features that are incomtible with a specific scheme so most times there is a delay between major releases and specific use cases. Second dovecot as of now does support the most current SOLR, which is good.

What the exact policy for SOLR releases is I find hard to find, I did find this however:

8 was released in 2019 and the latest 8 version is from september 2024. 9 was released in 2022 and still is the current release,
