Added some helper sources where too complicated to figure out
how to do things in plain gir
Added some hand created gir files for bootstrapping - where
have cyclic references in gir files - and did not want to do full
gir analysis at the moment

Fixup merge required - I should have pushed the gi branch before switching master branch
- using --strategy=ours keeps local files the same ready for the push.
