Description

when running code-server -V with the latest release this announces itself as development instead of the git tag.

Steps to Reproduce

1. download release from https://github.com/cdr/code-server/releases/download/1.1099-vsc1.33.1/code-server1.1099-vsc1.33.1-linux-x64.tar.gz
2. extract archive & cd into it
   3 call ./code-server -V
