On 2025-07-15, AWS CLI v2 Docker images will upgrade their base image from Amazon Linux 2 to Amazon Linux 2023.

If you use the Docker image as a standalone tool, no actions are needed. The tool will remain stable between the upgrade.

If you build an image on top of the AWS CLI v2 Docker image, you may face compatibility issues between Amazon Linux 2 and Amazon Linux 2023. You can read more about the differences in the Amazon Linux documentation.

For expected Dockerfile changes, please refer to #9551.
