It looks like the latest release, 2.8.1, does not work with the examples in the README. For instance:

$> echo '{"foo": {"bar": "baz"}}' | dasel -i json 'foo.bar = "bong"'
Error: unknown shorthand flag: 'i' in -i

Hey sorry for the confusion - I'm preparing for the V3 release, but it's not released on homebrew etc yet.
