  • 30 km resolution at the equator
  • 60 km resolution at mid latitudes
  • 35 km resolution near the poles

Mesh, initial condition, dynamic adjustment and files for E3SM are on Chrysalis at:

Testing

All test cases for this mesh ran and results are available in:

/lcrc/group/e3sm/ac.xylar/compass_1.2/chrysalis/e3smv3-meshes/ecwisc30to60e3r1

I will work with @jonbob to get additional coupling files created for E3SM testing, and will copy the files from:

/lcrc/group/e3sm/ac.xylar/compass_1.2/chrysalis/e3smv3-meshes/ecwisc30to60e3r1/ocean/global_ocean/ECwISC30to60/WOA23/files_for_e3sm/assembled_files

to

/lcrc/group/e3sm/public_html

as soon as we decide it's appropriate.

Images of bathymetry to evaluate channels. Paraview command was, after sourcing the conda environment:

cd /lcrc/group/acme/ac.jwolfe/scratch/anvil/20230825.G-test.ECwISC30to60E3r1.anvil/run
export bo=/lcrc/group/e3sm/ac.mpetersen/scratch/by_others/

All of the channels that we have specified in the past look correct. Specifically, the English Channel, connection to Baltic Sea, Strait of Gibraltar, Canadian Archipelago. Channels in sea ice areas are required to be two-wide to accommodate sea ice flow.
