Resolves issue with PHP 8 compatibility

Provides compatibility for Laravel 8.

Fixes issue with route caused by recent merge

Minor code cleanup
Fixed missing escape param
Route array fix

We're adding 7.0 support under the 6.0 branch given there are no breaking changes.

This should resolve further issues with the Laravel 6 series which will mean any further updates will be patches

As of this branch we will no longer be supporting any v5 branches of this repository.

A general update thanks to @ranabd36 which handles Laravel 5.8 updates.
