Welcome to the spack-stack wiki!

Overview

Spack-stack is a framework for installing software libraries to support a wide range of numerical weather prediction and data assimilation systems developed by the spack-stack project partners.

Spack-stack supports installations on a range of R&D and operational platforms. It provides a set of installation templates (package lists), default package settings, system configurations for a range of platforms, spack extensions, and uses forks of the spack and spack-packages repositories.

Spack is a community-supported, multi-platform package manager developed by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). For more information about the organization of the spack-stack project, see the Project Charter.

The documentation is organized into different sections targeting end users, advanced users, and developers of spack-stack.

End users who wish to build software with existing spack-stack installatons on fully-supported (tier-1) platforms should consult the End user docs linked below. Advanced users who wish to deploy spack-stack on other systems, as well as developers of spack-stack, should consult the Developers and advanced user docs linked below.
