Hi,

I really appreciate using the vhdl domain for sphinx and the autodoc functionnalities. A lot of thanks for all the good work you have been doing so far.

There is this little thing that I think we can improve. The grouping of ports or generics in a table (as we can see on this page https://cesnet.github.io/sphinx-vhdl/group_example_built.html) generates the === separator in the table that i feel a bit unesthetic. I feel it would look better if we horizontally merged the "unused" cells for a group :

  • merging the first 3 columns for the name of the group, keeping the last one for a description.
  • and even better, merging the description column if unused.

I have a code that does this modification that I can submit if necessary.

Although, I'm not sure it would be feasible as of right now with this base of code, but my wish would be that if all the separate signals of a group description are empty, the group description is displayed in a vertical merge of the bus description.

Thanks a lot for your time,
Olivier Boursier
