Deputy Attorney General, Department of Justice

Todd Blanche is the 40th Deputy Attorney General of the United States, overseeing the Department of Justice’s daily operations, including Main Justice, the FBI, DEA, U.S. Marshals, ATF, and 93 U.S. Attorney’s Offices. He has served nearly 15 years at the Department, beginning as a paralegal in the Criminal Division and later at the Southern District of New York (SDNY). There, he became Co-Chief of the Violent Crimes Unit and White Plains Division, overseeing complex cases including public corruption, fraud, RICO violations, and violent crimes. He received the Department’s Director’s Award for Superior Performance.

From 2014 to 2024, Mr. Blanche practiced law privately, advising clients globally on criminal and regulatory matters, and crisis management. In 2023, he founded Blanche Law, representing high-profile individuals such as President Donald J. Trump.

Mr. Blanche holds a B.A. in Political Science from American University and a J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School, where he was editor of the Brooklyn Law Review. He clerked for Judges Denny Chin and Joseph Bianco, both now on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
