Notice of possible block evasion by User:Fcgolgohar78
[edit]Hello @Toadspike, I mentioned you in the discussion "Notice of possible block evasion by User:Fcgolgohar78". If you have time, please take a look at my new note on the administrators’ noticeboard. Thank you. Vodnir (talk) 15:11, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
Hello 👋 How do I make my data here count --Lawmask (talk) 15:49, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
- You can make your data count by editing anything at all!
- Correcting spelling, adding links, adding images, or even creating articles are all valid and valuable ways of adding to the encyclopedia.
- Cheers and rock on!

Question from WiseSilentBob (21:44, 23 November 2025)
[edit]I want to create a page based on a topic that is covered in a subtopic on a page (I think it fulfils the criteria for its own page). I want to avoid the new page being rejected for repeating what is on the subtopic page before I can create the redirect. How do I avoid this? --WiseSilentBob (talk) 21:44, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
- @WiseSilentBob Sorry for my delayed answer. I think what you're looking to do is a page split. Since it sounds like you know what you're doing, you can probably just go for it by following the instructions at WP:CORRECTSPLIT. If you give me a page title, I can provide more specific advice. Toadspike [Talk] 16:05, 25 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for your reply. The page is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialist_Workers_Party_(UK) and I want to make the 'Internal crisis over allegations of rape' section its own page. I am aware there are various redirects to this section from other searches (for example 'Comrade Delta') and I would like to be able to keep those. WiseSilentBob (talk) 09:49, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- @WiseSilentBob Yes, it looks like a split there is warranted. After you split this to a new page, I would condense this section to a shorter summary and add a hatnote using TM:Main. I'm not sure how to help with the incoming links – in theory they're all listed at Special:WhatLinksHere/Socialist Workers Party (UK), but there are over seven hundred incoming links listed there, so going through them all would be a pain. Toadspike [Talk] 10:06, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks! I wonder if this is something I should raise on the page Talk community first, and if so, how? Also, as this is a contentious topic, is it worth requesting protected edits, or do you only do that after people have been editing your work in bad faith? WiseSilentBob (talk) 09:40, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- @WiseSilentBob Yes, you can start a split discussion on the talk page if you like. The instructions are at WP:PROSPLIT. You don't need to make edit requests, since the page isn't protected. "Contentious topic" only means admins have more discretion in dealing with bad behavior – since you haven't (to my knowledge) behaved badly, that designation should have no impact on your editing. Toadspike [Talk] 09:50, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, wait, maybe you weren't referring to "contentious topics" in the Wikipedia sense (WP:CTOP), but just in the general sense. My answer doesn't change, though – if you think this split could be controversial, you are welcome to follow the instructions I liked above to open a discussion. No need for edit requests. Question from Dafootballguy on Draft:50-50 club (23:02, 23 November 2025)
[edit]How do I add a picture to this article? Also is this article good enough? --Dafootballguy (talk) 23:02, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Dafootballguy Sorry for the delayed response. To add a picture, press the + icon and click on "Images and media". You'll have to make sure that the image is freely licensed, though. As for whether the article is "good enough", I suggest finding a few more sources that use this term to show the general notability guideline is met. Toadspike [Talk] 15:58, 25 November 2025 (UTC)

Question about WP:ANI
[edit]Hi, Toadspike. I have a question. The WP:ANI says: "Sections older than 48 hours are archived by Lowercase sigmabot III." Does it mean that the report will automatically be closed if not responded to within 48 hours? I was told that the Thanksgiving holiday may mean that admins will look into it on Monday. Israell (talk) 09:06, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- If no-one edits a section for 48 hours, it will be archived. In this case, my close was the latest edit to that section, so it will get archived shortly after 07:49 UTC on 29 November. Toadspike [Talk] 09:15, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- Oh! I was mistaken. I meant WP:ANEW. This is the report in question. The report was made yesterday, and it wasn't closed yet. Does it mean admins have one more day only to close it? Israell (talk) 09:33, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- Since the most recent comment was eight hours ago, they should have 40 hours to respond. At least, I think that's how the archiving bot works. Toadspike [Talk] 09:48, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- That user is still reverting content (by other users) on the same article even before an admin made a decision. I've been on Wikipedia for twenty years, and it's one of the most disruptive cases I've ever seen! I'll update the diff evidence section of my report. Israell (talk) 11:53, 27 November 2025 (UTC)

Question from MehrdadDadbien (19:35, 27 November 2025)
MehrdadDadbien (talk) 19:35, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- @MehrdadDadbien Your article is on the Persian Wikipedia, here: [1]. I cannot help you with issues outside of the English Wikipedia. It looks like it has already been tagged for deletion. Toadspike [Talk] 21:28, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
