Trump-related navigation templates
[edit]Articles about Donald Trump are organized into several themes. Because of the large number of articles involved, full navigation is split among several navboxes:
- {{Donald Trump}} as a generic presidential biography template
- {{Trump businesses}} focusing on Trump's business career in real estate and miscellaneous ventures
- {{Trump family}} about family members, relations and ancestry
- {{Trump media}} grouping Trump's media productions, media appearances and third-party works about Trump
- {{First presidency of Donald Trump}} focusing on the election campaign, transition and presidency
- {{Second presidency of Donald Trump}} focusing on the election campaign, transition and presidency
- {{Trump executive actions}} lists the Trump administration's executive actions, including executive orders and presidential memoranda
Duplication of contents across each of those should be avoided.
There is also a navigation sidebar, {{Donald Trump series}}, which should only include a selection of the most relevant articles.
This template's initial visibility currently defaults to autocollapse, meaning that if there is another collapsible item on the page (a navbox, sidebar, or table with the collapsible attribute), it is hidden apart from its title bar; if not, it is fully visible.
To change this template's initial visibility, the |state= parameter may be used:
{{Trump businesses|state=collapsed}}will show the template collapsed, i.e. hidden apart from its title bar.{{Trump businesses|state=expanded}}will show the template expanded, i.e. fully visible.
For the navigation sidebar {{Donald Trump series}}, the |state= parameter has no effect; however, the |expanded= parameter can have the following values to expand their respective sections on specific pages:

Use of the |expanded= parameter on this template causes the Business and personal section to collapse automatically. Any other value for the |expanded= parameter will cause all sections to collapse.

Templates using the classes class=navbox ({{navbox}}) or class=nomobile ({{sidebar}}) are not displayed in article space on the mobile web site of English Wikipedia. Mobile page views account for approximately 68% of all page views (90-day average as of September 2024[update]). Briefly, these templates are not included in articles because 1) they are not well designed for mobile, and 2) they significantly increase page sizes—bad for mobile downloads—in a way that is not useful for the mobile use case.
