Proud is a Polish drama television series written by Karol Klementewicz and Monika Pęcikiewicz, directed by Klementewicz, and produced by Bogumił Lipski. It stars Ignacy Liss as Filip, a young gay man who ends up a dad to his late sister's daughter.
Proud premiered on HBO Max on June 12, 2026 to positive reviews from critics.[2][3] At the 2026 Series Mania television festival, it won Grand Prix in International Competition and Best Actor for Ignacy Liss.[4][5]
Premise
[edit]Filip Raczyński is a 20-something hard-partying gay fashion model who lives with his sister and her child Tosia. After losing his sister, Filip ends up caring for and then looks to adopt Tosia.

Reception
[edit]The series received positive reviews from both Polish and international critics.[7][8][9]
Television critic Jack Seale from the British newspaper The Guardian gave it 4 out of 5 stars wrote in his review: "This Polish drama is beautifully shot, darkly funny and full of social commentary about the difficulty of being a gay father in Poland. Even the toddler seems like an accomplished actor".[10]
