abstract:

This article explores the life and work of Heinz Brücher (1915-1991), a German-born biologist who lived and worked in South America during the latter half of the twentieth century. It revisits the author's previous research on this enigmatic researcher, his work, and his past in Nazi Germany (Gade, 2006a), to add further information to the story, correct previously printed mistakes, provide new insights into the presence of Nazi scientists in South America, and continue the exploration of the profound ways ideology can affect or distort science.

Este artículo explora la vida y obra de Heinz Brücher (1915-1991), un biólogo de origen alemán que vivió y trabajó en América del Sur durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Revisa la investigación previa del autor sobre este enigmático investigador, su trabajo y su pasado en la Alemania nazi (Gade, 2006a), para agregar más información a la historia, corregir errores impresos previamente, proporcionar nuevos conocimientos sobre la presencia de científicos nazis en América del Sur y continuar la exploración de las formas profundas en que la ideología puede afectar o distorsionar la ciencia.
