Bideford & North Devon Branch

Information

The Bideford Branch was founded in 1952 and reaches out to members throughout the whole of North Devon. In April 2022 the Branch was formally renamed as “Bideford and North Devon Branch”, to emphasise the area that it covers.

At least six talks are held each year between October and April in the informal setting of the Burton at Bideford, close to the southern entrance to Victoria Park and next to a public car park. The meetings normally take place at 2pm on the third Friday of each month and include an eclectic range of illustrated talks and demonstrations by recognised experts in their fields. Topics relate to science, engineering, literature and the arts, and historical aspects thereof: more recently, musical events have been introduced.

Subject to demand excursions may be arranged during the summer months between May and July to localities both in and adjacent to Devon.

Visitors and new members are particularly welcome at all our events.
