Frequently asked questions
If you can't code, you can still help transform lives volunteering in other teams, like the employability team or in our Basic Online Skills programme. Register for as a volunteer and you can find out more about our roles at an online welcome call.
There are roles for people who can code at all levels. What we expect you is to have some professional experience in coding, so you can lead by example.
CodeYourFuture has it's own curriculum that is created and maintained by volunteers.
Our goal is to ensure folks who leave our programme are ready to succeed in a job in the tech industry. This could be an entry level job, such as manual tester or data analyst; or as a junior software engineer.
You can find our training content on our curriculum website.
In addition to technical programming skills we also work with trainees to develop other professional skills including communication, interview prep, CV building, public speaking, English proficiency, confidence - among many other key areas.
While it's possible to move teams, and even do different roles - we ask you choose one team to start. That way, we can ensure you will be onboarded and properly welcomed.
Register for as a volunteer and you can find out more about our roles at an online Welcome Event.
We have different volunteer teams and roles at CodeYourFuture. Some volunteer roles involve a few hours during the week and support for a class on a weekend.
For volunteers who have less time, there are roles for support during the week only, or only helping on occasional weekends.
During any week you will be supported by your team members as well as CodeYourFuture staff. We are a supportive community for our volunteers as well as our students!
