Happy Guy Fawkes Day!🎆
Did you know that the gunpowder that was used in the gunpowder plot proved to be decayed, and would never have exploded?🧨
On this day in 1605, Guy Fawkes, a member of the Gunpowder Plot, was arrested while guarding explosives the plotters had placed beneath the House of Lords. Branded one of the greatest villains of all time, despite the fact he neither led nor actually committed the crime. Fawkes was not the instigator of the Gunpowder Plot, yet he holds a special place as the man responsible.🏛️
Despite this, after his arrest people lit bonfires around London to celebrate that King James I had survived the attempt on his life.🔥
