Accessibility features don’t just help some people - they make technology better for everyone.    Today, on Global Accessibility Awareness Day, we’re highlighting why accessible design matters.     We are working to make our websites and digital platforms more accessible - following EU-wide accessibility standards, making progress towards becoming fully accessible for all.

Today we celebrate Vyshyvanka Day, honouring Ukraine’s vibrant cultural heritage and unbreakable spirit.      The traditional embroidered shirt is more than a symbol of national identity. It represents a cultural strength that underpins economic and political resilience.     As we work to bring Ukraine closer to our Union, every thread of our solidarity strengthens this shared fabric.     Our total support of over €200 billion from the EU and its countries helps stitch a secure and resilient future, ensuring Ukraine’s living traditions continue to spark pride and hope across Europe and the world.     Happy Vyshyvanka Day! 🇺🇦  

Over 75% of the world’s food crops need pollinators.     Yet, bee populations have dropped globally over recent decades due to:    🔸 habitat loss  🔸 climate change  🔸 excessive use of pesticides    Our fertiliser plan promotes healthier ecosystems, which are essential for bees’ survival.     On this #WorldBeeDay, we urge governments, organisations and citizens to help save these precious creatures.    Because we need to keep our bees busy and well.  

Europe’s air is getting cleaner.    More than two decades of EU policy, science-based monitoring, and collective action has delivered results that can be seen, measured and breathed.    Since 2005:  - Sulphur dioxide (SO₂): −85%  - Nitrogen oxides (NOₓ): −53%  - Fine particles (PM2.5): −38%  - Non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOCs): −35%  - Ammonia (NH₃): −17%    This progress is not accidental. It is the result of ambitious legislation and the shared commitment of EU countries, industry, and of course, citizens.    The work continues. 

Today, 1 in 5 Europeans are at risk of poverty or social exclusion. 1 in 4 is a child.    This is not acceptable.    We are stepping up with a clear plan to fight poverty in all its forms:    🛡️ The first-ever EU Anti-Poverty Strategy  We aim to reduce the number of people at risk of poverty by 15 million by 2030, with quality jobs, effective access to essential services and adequate income. 👧 Stronger protection for children  We’re strengthening support for families and ensuring access to essential services such as education, healthcare and nutrition.    🏠 Fighting housing exclusion   We’re supporting EU countries to help people at risk of losing their homes, and boosting  social and affordable housing.    ♿️Stronger rights for persons with disabilities  More independence, more inclusion.  We’re rolling out concrete tools, like the digital European Disability Card and the European Parking Card; but also new support for independent living.    In the EU, no one is left behind.    https://lnkd.in/eM28HhcA 

To be seen. To be safe. To be yourself. 🌈  For too many, this still comes at a cost.  On IDAHOT, we stand with LGBTIQ+ people across Europe, and against hate, discrimination and violence. Because we protect what matters. Our freedoms, our rights, our democracy.
