„🇺🇦 Am 24. August, dem Unabhängigkeitstag der Ukraine, kommen wir in Berlin unter einem Himmel zusammen.

Ab 10:00 Uhr macht eine großflächige Schutznetz-Installation auf dem Pariser Platz sichtbar, was für viele Menschen in ukrainischen Frontstädten längst Alltag ist: Netze über Straßen als Schutz vor russischen Drohnenangriffen. Eine begleitende Ausstellung erzählt von den Opfern der sogenannten „Menschenjagd“.
Um 18:30 Uhr startet unser Protestmarsch am Potsdamer Platz und führt zum Pariser Platz. Dort schließen wir den Abend mit einer Kundgebung und der gemeinsam gesungenen ukrainischen Nationalhymne ab.
Unsere Botschaft ist klar: Die Ukraine braucht wirksamen Schutz für ihre Städte und ihre Bevölkerung. Denn die Sicherheit der Ukraine ist auch die Sicherheit Europas.

Über 300.000 Menschen sind wegen Waldbränden in Frankreich und Spanien auf der Flucht.

The European Central Bank, through its President Christine Lagarde, has unveiled the designs for the new euro banknotes. They are based on the preferences of nearly 400,000 Europeans as expressed in a 2023 survey. The most important themes for them were culture, rivers, and birds.
Design ...agencies have now submitted five designs for each of these two themes. Which ones do you like best, and why? Let us know in the comments and cast your vote in the ECB’s new survey, which runs through the end of September and will have a decisive influence on the final decision at the end of 2026.
